varsity jacket terms of service

This is the Terms of Service for my Varsity Jackets, which is different from my standard Terms of Service.
Please read everything carefully as it contains lots of important information.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. You can find more information about Varsity Jackets here.

Last updated: 04/05/2022

introductory notes

Jacket orders are done through "Sets" of 10 upwards to 15 slots. Openings are usually every 2-3 months, but if you check the info page, it should display when the next opening is. Please note that this is subject to change.

When a Set opens, a link to a form will be posted on my twitter. The form will need to be filled out in order to claim a slot. Openings are usually a "first come, first served, one slot per person" basis unless stated otherwise. I cannot hold / reserve a slot so please don't ask.

You must be over the age of 18 to commission me.

Accepting / declining an entry

The form will close once all slots have been filled. Everyone who has submitted a form entry will received a notification on whether they have been successful or not.

I hold the right to deny any Jacket commission request. I also hold the right to terminate a commission at any time with an appropriate amount being refunded if any work has been done. Reasons for declines / termination can be any one or multiple of the following:

  • Abuse, harassment or extreme rudeness
  • Fraud
  • Have multiple artist / customer bewares held against you (that are unresolved)
  • Have been blacklisted by multiple artists
  • Commissioning art of a character that is stolen
You may be denied if your character is too complicated to reproduce. So far I have yet to refuse anyone for this reason but it is always a possibility to consider. If you're unsure if your character fits my criteria then just ask!

The Process

Once all the slots have been filled, the form will close and email confirmations will be sent out to the successful entrants. In this email, it will outline all the information that you have entered on the form. You can then make changes if anything is incorrect. I am not liable for any mistakes if you confirm that the information you submitted is correct. All successful entrants are are added to my Trello account, where the progress can be tracked.

PayPal invoices will be sent alongside confirmation emails. When the invoices are sent out, you will have 72 hours to pay from the invoice issue date otherwise your slot will be cancelled and it will go to the next person. If you cannot pay for the Jacket at the time of payment, do not commission one, please do not waste my time otherwise you may be blacklisted.

When the sketches are complete, they will be emailed out to check if any changes are needed. Remember, this is a sketch and is designed to give a base shape and expression, therefore not all minute details (like specific fur markings) of your character will be included.

After all slots have been sketched, the next process will be the completion of the the art. Once they are finished, they will be emailed out to be "confirmed" and to check if any changes are needed. Everyone will be given a date to confirm by. If you do not confirm and it goes past this date, then I will presume everything is fine and ready to print.

Also included in these emails are the Jacket Mock-ups. These are designed to give you a general idea of what you will receive. Please note that the spacing of the artwork in comparison to the text or the Jacket itself is not 100% accurate as that is difficult to portray. All artwork is checked multiple times to prevent mistakes.

After this, all the artwork will be sent off to be printed. This usually takes about 10 working days, sometimes slightly longer. Once I have received them, pictures are taken and are sent out, before being packed and shipped.

This entire process, on average, takes about 6-12 weeks. I am fully self-employed now, so turn around may be much faster than it was previously.

It's highly appreciated (and crucially important) that all emails I send are responded to.

Payment

Custom Furry Varsity Jackets are £185 each. This is a non-negotiable price.

Payments are taken via PayPal invoices. You have 72 hours from the invoice issue date to pay. If you do not pay within this time frame your slot will be cancelled. If you are encountering issues paying, do let me know ASAP and we can sort something. I do not take payment plans for Jackets.

All payments are taken in GBP (£). Please note that PayPal's conversion rates can be different to other conversion rates, and these conversion rates fluctuate constantly. Shipping is calculated at the point of invoicing and will be included on your invoice.

requesting/receiving updates

All commission progress is posted over on my Trello. Sketches and completed artwork are also posted there. Don't hesitate to contact me if you need updates on your Jacket.

Please do not contact me on any messaging apps - these are private and I do not appreciate being contacted about work on them.

If you would like your commission to be kept private, I can anonymise your Trello entry upon request.

deadlines

Unfortunately I am unable to accept deadlines for any Jacket commissions on Sets. I cannot guaranteed completion in time for cons, birthdays, meets etc. either.

character guidelines

I'll draw any species of animal, including fandom-created creatures like Sergals and Dutch Angel Dragons. However I will not draw copyrighted (including fan) characters such as My Little Pony, Pokemon etc. nor will I draw Humans. The characters I draw for these are to be kept strictly to the "Anthropomorphic Animal" genre.

All reference sheets and other artwork must be SFW, or if they are NSFW, please censor appropriately. If you don't have a reference sheet, you can also send other art that displays the character design and colours clearly, such as a badge. Please do not send any fursuit pictures or game screenshots (this includes VR Chat and Second Life). I am not responsible for getting any markings or colours wrong if you are unable to provide a decent reference.

cancellations and refunds

If you would like to cancel your slot, please contact me immediately and I can begin arranging refunds.

If you have paid and it's not been started at all, you will receive a 100% refund, including shipping.
If you choose to cancel when the Jacket is in the designing/drawing stage, you will be refunded 70% of your payment, including shipping.
If your Jacket artwork has been completed and is about to be sent off for printing; you will be refunded 30% of your payment, including shipping.

Unfortunately, I cannot offer refunds once Jackets have been sent off to print/have been printed, as 99% of the work has now been completed and it is just waiting for the printed product to be sent to me so I can dispatch it to you.

If the Jacket does not fit you you will not be able to have a refund either. Each Jacket is custom ordered. I do stress that you check the sizing guide and measure yourself if needed. I am not responsible if Jackets do not fit. You will simply need to place a reprint order.

shipping

For customers within the UK, all Jackets can be shipped via Signed-For or Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm (Tracked). For customers outside the UK (EU and Rest of the World), Jackets can go through Standard or Tracked & Signed shipping.

All packages are sent via Royal Mail. Once it leaves the UK it'll most likely go through your national postal service. I do not offer a courier option.

I am not responsible for any customs charges, fees, etc. that you may receive, you must pay for these. All international orders have custom declarations attached to them to insure they get through customs quickly.

Please note I am not liable for lost packages. I make sure everything is labelled clearly with a return address included. If your package does get lost, make sure to file a lost claim report with the respective mail company. Do also let me know, I am happy to help in any way I can such as providing proof of costs, shipment, etc.

Shipping costs are not included in the base price of the Jacket and are calculated separately. For prices, please see this page.

jacket care

Jackets should be washed at 30c (cold wash is advised to prevent heat damage), inside out (button it up first). Washing inside out extends the longevity of the print. I do stress that fading is natural and will happen after many washes, there is nothing that can be done to prevent this as it happens with all kinds of clothing that have digital prints on them. You may find it better to wash it by itself and with no other items in order to avoid any potential dye leaks (not had this happen personally, but it's just precautionary advice). Do not hand wring dry as this can damage the delicate print.

No bleach product may be used to wash the Jacket. Do not Tumble Dry as the heat can damage the print. Do not Dry Clean. Regular ironing, steam or dry, may be performed at Low setting (110C, 230F) only. Do not iron directly on the print as this can cause heat damage, instead iron it on the reverse side if needed.

I cannot compensate for any Jackets that have been washed incorrectly, except on a case-by-case basis.

terms of use

You receive one (1) Jacket in the colour, design and size you ordered. You will also receive a resized version (since it's very big) of your Jacket headshot. You can use this drawing as your own logo, watermark, stickers, or a badge. You can use it for your own personal use, but not for profit. All I ask is that you give credit when used. If you are still unsure what you can use it for, just send me an email. Feel free to post your own Jacket art and photos to any of your social media accounts too. Please credit me wherever you post.

Please do not edit or resell my artwork without my permission. You can only resell it if you're selling it along with the character in the piece. Do not pass my artwork off as your own.

  • Full Name - So I can address your commission.
